A South Carolina state trooper has been charged in connection with the tragic death of a 4-year-old child in Oconee County. Former trooper Joshua Latimer and Destiny Dionne are both facing two counts of unlawful neglect of a child after the child was found dead Friday morning at a home in Walhalla.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety confirms Latimer was fired immediately after his arrest. He had only been with the agency since January. The investigation is ongoing. WSPA 7 News will continue to follow this developing story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
