About

Oldies Radio Kool-FM is a low power FM radio station (LPFM) licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to serve Greenville, SC and surrounding areas at 101.5 FM. We are owned by Greenville, SC based Quality Radio Partners, headed by Dave Solomon, a Carolina born & raised broadcaster who made his mark as a manager/program director in Oldies music radio in large Carolina cities like Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro/Winston-Salem, Myrtle Beach and others. Oldies Radio Kool-FM is a passionate, nonprofit project of a crew that truly loves the music. Further, through research and investigation through social media, it was easily determined that the local Greenville radio audience over the age of 50 was vastly under-served by local FM radio. In November of 2018, Oldies 101.5 was born to solve that problem. Once 107.7 was added, Oldies 101.5 changed it’s name to Oldies Radio Kool-FM. It sounded much better on our jingles than “Oldies 101.5 & 107.7” and is more “future-proof” as it could also accommodate more stations as our Carolina oldies “mini-network” grows. We wanted a name that could last.

Our music is from the mid-60’s until the early 80’s and not only features the biggest hits of the time, but also some of the forgotten songs. We mix those with a healthy dose of Carolina Beach music to top-off our unique on-air sound. So far, response has been overwhelmingly positive. Quite a feat for such a low power FM radio station. We broadcast from the geographic center of Greenville with just 100 watts of power and are classified as “noncommercial” by the FCC.

We are pleased to have great support partnerships with WSPA-TV 7 News, Weather Watch Meteorologists, Prisma Health, FMX LLC, CloudCast Radio, BW Broadcast & Nicom. These fine people are a great reason why we are able to broadcast to you.
