A South Carolina state trooper has been charged in the death of a 4-year-old child in Oconee County. Authorities say Joshua Latimer and Destiny Dionne face two counts of unlawful neglect of a child. The child died in a Walhalla home Friday morning. Latimer was fired from the Department of Public Safety the same day.
Also breaking — a former teacher assistant has filed a lawsuit against Spartanburg County School District 5, alleging she was wrongfully terminated after posting a quote from Charlie Kirk about the Second Amendment. The post led to her dismissal from River Ridge Elementary on September 15. She claims the firing violated her rights.
