Big changes are coming to fan celebrations at college football and basketball games this fall. A new policy announced by the conference commissioner will now restrict fans from rushing the field or court immediately after games.
Under the new rules, fans will only be allowed to enter the playing area once the visiting team and officials have safely exited. Violations of this policy will result in significant fines starting at $50,000 and reaching up to $200,000.
This marks a major shift for schools with long-standing post-game traditions, as they must now balance fan enthusiasm with new safety protocols. The hope is to preserve iconic moments while ensuring safety and order on the field.
