Sen. Darline Graham held a telephone town hall with South Carolina voters Thursday night, fielding questions on abortion, transgender athletes in girls’ sports, immigration and her qualifications ahead of the Aug. 25 special GOP Senate primary runoff. Graham leaned on her nearly 30-year career as a public servant — including seven years leading the South Carolina Commission for the Blind — to push back on questions about her lack of elected experience, while touting her first three weeks in office. She closed the call reflecting on her brother’s legacy and thanking voters for their support since his death, while urging them to back her in the runoff against Congressman Ralph Norman.
