A suspect is now in custody after an hours-long standoff and manhunt in Spartanburg County. Deputies with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office say the incident began around 9 a.m. Thursday on Sunset Road while they were serving a search warrant. The suspect fled into the woods, prompting nearby schools — Landrum High, Landrum Middle, and O.P. Earle Elementary — to go under heightened security. The suspect, later identified as Justin Morris, was eventually found around 4 p.m. near Clearwater Road. This is a developing story.
