Breaking news from Oconee County: The death of a 4-year-old child has been ruled a homicide. Authorities say a former South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper and the child’s mother have both been arrested.
According to SLED, the suspects face two counts each of unlawful conduct toward a child, and now, an additional charge of homicide by child abuse. The case is being handled by the 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, and the investigation is ongoing.
