South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has signed a new executive order tightening remote work guidelines for state employees.
Under the new policy:
– Agencies must now submit remote work plans for approval
– Those plans can be revoked if employee performance drops
– Workers must have at least one year of satisfactory service to qualify
– Remote work is limited to two days per week maximum
– Governor McMaster emphasized that the focus is on efficiency, not employee preference
