Authorities in Anderson County say they discovered the skeletal remains of at least eight dogs at a property on Camelot Drive in Belton, South Carolina. The disturbing discovery was made after a family member conducted a welfare check and found the home in deplorable condition. Leah Thrasher, the homeowner’s sister-in-law, shared graphic photos and described what she saw. Deputies say the person living in the home may have been a dog breeder and that animal cruelty charges are pending. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office says an arrest is expected.
