Clemson football player Ian Schieffelin says the DUI charge against him has been dismissed, but he won’t take the field in the Tigers’ highly anticipated season opener against LSU.
In a statement released by his attorney, Schieffelin — a former Clemson basketball standout — revealed that he has instead accepted a traffic ticket for reckless driving following an arrest by Clemson police on August 17.
The incident has sparked attention both on and off the field, as Schieffelin’s absence will be felt in Saturday’s opener. Stay with 7 News for the latest updates on this developing story.
