Greenwood County residents were jolted awake Saturday morning as seven small earthquakes rattled the area between midnight and 4 a.m. The strongest quakes, measuring 2.9 and 3.0, struck just minutes apart, according to the South Carolina Department of Emergency Management. While no major damage was reported, the tremors were felt up to 10 miles away. Officials are urging anyone who felt the shaking to report it to the USGS to help with seismic tracking.
