A man directing traffic in Taylors, South Carolina, was struck and killed by a pickup truck, authorities say. This tragic incident occurred at the intersection of East Street and Terramont Dr in Taylors shortly after 5 p.m.
According to Greenville County deputies and the county coroner, 40-year-old Cesar Pena was wearing a reflective vest and assisting with traffic control for his employer when he was struck by at least one vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The incident remains under active investigation. Officials have not yet confirmed whether charges will be filed. The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and local traffic enforcement are continuing to review the case.
