The City of Spartanburg has introduced Spartago, a new curb-to-curb microtransit service designed to make public transportation more accessible and flexible. The pilot program, operated in partnership with Via Transportation, allows users to request $2 rides through a mobile app—similar to popular rideshare services like Uber and Lyft.
SpartaGo is currently operating with three vehicles, covering about one-third of the city, and aims to reach residents who previously couldn’t access traditional bus routes. The first four rides are free during the pilot phase, which runs for one year.
