Wofford College has made a stunning move just weeks before the men’s basketball preseason begins—head coach Dwight Perry and top assistant Ty Anderson are no longer with the team, according to a sudden announcement from the school.
The Spartanburg-based college released a brief two-paragraph statement providing no official reason for the coaching shakeup. Athletic Director Scott Kull declined to elaborate further. Perry had served as Wofford’s head coach for two full seasons and led the team to a Southern Conference (SoCon) championship in March—his final win among a 48–43 career record.
Former Wofford player and current assistant coach Drew Gibson has been named interim head coach, but it remains unclear whether he will remain in that role for the full 2025–26 season.
