The City of Clemson has officially approved a 17-acre housing project called Varsity Club Phase 3, located next to the existing Varsity Club Town Homes.
The new project will feature:
– 108 apartments (including studios & 1-bedrooms)
– 44 townhomes
– Housing for up to 530 residents
City officials say the housing is intended for a mix of undergrad and grad students, young professionals, and families, addressing growing demand as the region continues to develop.
🚗 Local residents support the project but are concerned about traffic, particularly along Tiger Boulevard.
💰 The city confirmed no taxpayer dollars will be used. The developer will contribute $500,000 toward affordable housing in the city.
📄 Permits are still required before construction begins.
