Breaking News: A man is behind bars after a tense standoff and arrest in Union County, South Carolina.
Union Public Safety officials say the suspect is connected to two separate homicides that occurred within 24 hours earlier this week. The victims — a man and a woman — were found shot to death just blocks apart on South Mountain Street and in a nearby parking lot.
The suspect was taken into custody after law enforcement, including SLED and the Union County Fire Department, used less-lethal tactics to end the hours-long standoff at a Church Street home. Authorities confirm he acted alone.
