A former South Carolina lawmaker facing serious criminal charges is requesting a change of venue for his upcoming trial. The former representative, who is accused of distributing child pornography online, says media coverage has made it impossible to receive a fair and impartial trial in the current location. The defendant, who plans to represent himself, filed a handwritten motion asking the court to relocate the proceedings. His trial is scheduled to begin October 9th in Columbia.
