A former Boiling Springs High School teacher in Spartanburg County is behind bars after being charged with eight counts of sexual battery involving a student. Authorities say all charges stem from separate incidents involving the same victim. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office believes there could be additional victims and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
During a bond hearing, a judge denied Micah Lanford’s release, citing the manipulation and grooming of the victim. Investigators say Lanford used his position as a trusted adult to exploit and silence students, warning that more charges could be filed if more victims come forward.
