Lee McGowan passed away 11/11/2013 after 10+ years as the Chief Engineer for CBS Radio San Diego’s KYXY and KEGY. Most of his friends in San Diego didn’t know that he was a DJ at KDES Palm Springs back in the 70’s. At KDES Lee became the Chief Engineer and never looked back. Probably a good choice since he didn’t have the usual jock voice. But here are some rare tapes I made of him on the air back in the day. If Lee couldn’t squeeze in a punchline before the vocal he just kept plowing on. Enjoy. And RIP Lee.
