10 shot following a shooting at Greenville County nightclub; two have died

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says they're actively investigating after two people were killed and eight others injured in a shooting along White Horse Road early Sunday morning. According to a media release, a deputy was traveling along the roadway around 1:50 a.m. when they observed a disturbance at Lavish Lounge. Multiple law enforcement officials, including those from Greenville City Police and the South Carolina Highway Patrol, responded to assist. Officials say the Sheriff's Office Communications Center also received word that several other victims had been taken to a hospital in personal vehicles. The Greenville Coroner's Office confirms two people succumbed to their injuries. Deputies say the eight other victims' injuries range from non-life threatening to critical. The investigation is active. Two suspects are being sought, though there is limited information on them at this moment. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 23-CRIME. "Thank you for your concern," Lavish Lounge wrote under a Facebook post saying all future events held at their establishment will be postponed until further notice. Emergency crews: possible drowning reported in Seneca

SENECA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Emergency crews are responding to a reported possible drowning in Seneca Saturday evening. Scott Krein, emergency manager for Oconee County Emergency Services, says the possible pool drowning was called in some time around 9 p.m. from Evelyn Drive. The details, however, continue to develop. We've reached out to the coroner's office to see if they are responding. Stay tuned for updates.
Warrants: Man sent racially-charged threats via text to neighbor

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A Spartanburg man is facing charges after deputies say he sent racially-charged text messages to his neighbor. Spartanburg County deputies say 47-year-old Christopher Surratt of Spartanburg sent the messages to the neighbor on July 3. A deputy’s report indicates the victim called Surratt to tell him to stop texting, and the deputy told Surratt to cease communication as well. However, the report indicates Surratt hung up and kept texting the neighbor. The deputy then went to Surratt’s home, who admitted to contacting the neighbor. Surratt was told to stop contacting the other man, and he was then arrested. Surratt is now charged with 2nd degree harassment and unlawful communication using a telephone. Warrants issued for Surratt indicate he threatened the neighbor’s life and even conducted surveillance on the victim’s home. The deputy’s report also notes Surratt allegedly made threats against local activist Bruce Wilson. Surratt was brought before bond court on July 4, and granted a $750 bond. Wilson spoke to FOX Carolina after Surratt’s bond hearing, expressing his disdain for the situation. “Well it’s sad because what he’s done has also threatened this gentleman’s life, as he was threatening mine,” Wilson said, saying Surratt threatened the neighbor’s life if the neighbor didn’t denounce Wilson. Surratt was eventually released just after 4:30 p.m.
