Coroner: Body found along Union Co. street believed to be man missing since January

UNION COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) -- The Union County Coroner said that a body discovered behind a church Friday is believed to be that of a man reported missing last month. Sheriff Taylor with the Union County Sheriff's Office says the body was found at the end of Williams Street behind Tabernacle Baptist Church. Union County Coroner Holcombe later said they believe the deceased to be 30-year-old Mark Kevin Ammons Jr. Ammons Jr. was last heard from on <a href="https://www.foxcarolina.com/investigations/union-co-man-goes-disappears-twin-boys-missing-their-father/article_586a39ee-4d4f-11ea-9427-ab4871e6e332.html" target="_blank">January 19.</a> Official confirmation will come after an autopsy is performed by the Newberry Pathology Group on February 17. Coroner: Two dead after house fire in West Pelzer

PELZER, SC (FOX Carolina) The Anderson County Coroner's Office confirmed their office was on scene of a fire in West Pelzer Saturday afternoon. Coroner Greg Shore was able to say he had a member of his office on scene of the Whitten Road residence, just off Looper Road. The West Pelzer Fire Department says they responded to the early morning fire. Anderson County deputies were also on scene assisting. At this time, deputies say it is not a criminal investigation. Shore later confirmed to us that two people died in the fire. Their identities have not been released as of writing. We are working to learn more, stay with FOX Carolina for updates.
